Aid projects

Thanks to your donations, we can invest a total of 82,500 euros in direct aid in the project year 2024-2025 for the financing of our ongoing projects and provide another 4,000 euros as an initial budget for emergency aid.

 

We are very happy to be able to contribute a small part to balance and justice with these projects. Please support our work again this year and let us actively and give our help together out of compassion.

Mitgefühl in Aktion is currently supporting the following aid projects and kindly requests your generous support. All donations go entirely to the projects with no deduction of administrative or association costs. We rely entirely on volunteers and do not deduct any salaries from donations to our relief work. All aid funds used abroad are professionally monitored by our organization. If you would like to support a specific project, please indicate it at the time of donation.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

MiA supports 12 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through its activities and projects:

  • Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere

MiA exclusively supports poverty reduction projects in developing and emerging

developing and emerging countries.

  • Goal 2: Ensure food security worldwide

MiA provides direct food aid to people affected by hunger and malnutrition 

  • Goal 3: Health and well-being

MiA supports projects for medical and educational care, e.g. for internally displaced persons in Myanmar, whose parents can be trained and work as backpack paramedics

  • Goal 4: High-quality education worldwide

MiA supports education projects, especially for girls and women, e.g. in Cambodia, Sri Lanka and India through school dormitories and university scholarships. 

  • Goal 5: Equality between women and men

MiA specifically promotes the education and training of girls and women in various countries such as India, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Myanmar

  • Goal 6: Availability and sustainable management of water

In 2020 and 2021 through well construction in Senegal

  • Goal 8: Sustainable management as an opportunity for all

MiA supports projects that help people to secure their livelihoods, e.g. by building greenhouses and promoting agricultural self-sufficiency in the Andes of Peru. And from 2020 to 2022, MiA supported the training of single women in Cameroon to become self-employed.

  • Goal 10: Fewer inequalities

By supporting disadvantaged groups such as the Dalit in India, Normaden children in Mongolia, ethnic groups in the Andes of Peru and Koran in Myanmar, MiA is helping to reduce inequalities 

  • Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

Through training in vegetable cultivation and healthy organic food programs in the Andes, Peru

  • Goal 15: Restore terrestrial ecosystems and promote their sustainable use, combat desertification, end land degradation and halt biodiversity loss 

MiA helps to counteract the decline in fertile soil caused by climate change in the Andes, Peru, through irrigation and cultivation. In Senegal, local ecological use of soils was restored through irrigation in 2020-2021

  • Goal 16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development

MiA is working in war zones such as Ukraine and Myanmar to protect and help people affected by killing and marginalization.

  • Goal 17: Global partnership

As an organization that works in different countries, collaborates with other aid organizations, works with BGR as a direct partner and with local partners on the ground, MiA promotes global partnerships for sustainable development
